This past year has been difficult.
On August 1st my parents and I took my sister Dee to Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. She was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She was transferred to the University of Iowa Hospital. It took six weeks to get the biopsy results of the tumor. It was the most difficult 7 weeks and 2 days of my life ending suddenly and unexpectedly on September 21st at 9:45 pm.
My sister had be diagnosed with Non Small Cell Lung Cancer Adenocarcinoma with ALK+ gene. We were told with Crizotinib (Xalkori) her cancer should be controlled for a year. On Thursday, September 21st at 8:00 pm she took the first pill. She died suddenly at 9:45 pm that evening.
I am still trying to deal with the loss and changes of missing my sister.
